Younger Generations Won’t Know These Old Car Features
Cassette Players
The first car with a cassette player hit the market in 1968. Philips made the in-dash car radio, and soon other companies followed suit. Initially, cassette players were a luxury feature only found in the priciest cars.
Cassette players ruled the roost in the 70s and 80s, but by the early 90s, CDs began to take over. By the early 2000s, cassette players were nearly extinct. The last car with a factory-installed cassette player was produced in 2011.
