Correct Incorrect Decompression sickness (DCS), also known as divers' disease or the bends, is a condition that results from dissolved gases coming out of solution and forming bubbles inside the body during depressurization. DCS is most commonly associated with issues arising from decompression during underwater diving ascent. However, it can be encountered in other depressurization scenarios, including working in a caisson, flying in unpressurized aircraft, and engaging in extra-vehicular activities from spacecraft.
