Photos of Homeless Man’s Makeover Goes Viral And The Family Reunited

It's amazing that sometimes a small act of kindness can have a great impact, even change one's life. A homeless man receiving a makeover including haircut, beard trim, and so on, this Brazilian guy was reunited with his families. They had thought he passed away for ten years ago until they noticed his photos on social media.

Where The Miracle Happens

João Coelho Guimarães, a 45-year-old man, had been living on the streets of Goiânia, Brazil, for three years. He noticed Padoo, a men's clothes and barbershop that he walked by frequently while picking up cans.

And one day, this homeless man decided to enter this store. He politely asked the staff if he could borrow a razor from them, which was the first step in his transformation.

The staff intended to offer foods for him, but he refused and only requested a razor for beard trimming. "That's when we had an idea and everyone in the store decided to help in a different way, providing a day of beauty for him." says Alessandro Lobo, the owner of Padoo.

They welcomed Guimarães and gladly offered a full VIP treatment. Lobo says "For us, it is very gratifying to be able to help people, whoever they are. In this time of the pandemic, many people lost loved ones and others were left with financial difficulties. A little help is always welcome in such a difficult time."

They spent two hours on his makeover, including cleaning, hair-cutting, beard-trimming, and a whole set of new clothes with shoes. Everyone on the team voluntarily pitched in a little bit of effort, then produced a surprising outcome together. Guimarães was completely transformed and looked like a different person.

Guimarães was totally surprised when he looked at mirror. As a shy person, he didn't say too much but his joyful tears was enough to express his satisfaction and gratitude.

The fashion team of Padoo posted before-and-after photos of Guimares on Instagram, because they were overjoyed by how much of a difference their had made in two hours. They wanted to show that how one's life may be changed with just a little help.

However, the post went unexpectedly viral and even reached Guimarães’ family, they recognized him from the pictures. Since he had lived on the streets for more than a decade, they had heard nothing about his whereabouts and even assumed he had passed away.

Touching Family Reunion, But...

Some days later, his sister came a long way to meet him and wanted him moved back home. The long-lost siblings greeted each other with a hug. Guimarães was thrilled to reunite with his family again after all these years, but he decided to keep his present lifestyle, which makes him feel free.

Lobo has never asked about the reason why Guimarães left his home. he said he and his team only want to give Guimarães a little dignity and confidence with a makeover.
